Emmitt
Smith
Emmitt Smith was born on May
15, 1969. His proud parents Mary Smith and Emmitt Smith the second told him to
work hard in school. Since his family was not rich his mother stayed home and
took care of the family and his dad drove a city bus. When he was nine months
old he crawled out of his crib. As a child he enjoyed watching football on TV.
Ten years later he was playing
football with thirteen year old kids. He weighed so much that he could not play
so he was the running back coach. He went to Escambia High School Player of the
year. After High School he went to the
He started his NFL career with
the Dallas Cowboys. In the 1990 draft the Cowboys selected him 17 overall. In
his rookie year he was named to the Pro bowl and he won the Offensive Rookie of
The Year. The following year he led the league in rushing and made the Pro
Bowl. In 1993 he led the league in rushing he was the NFL MVP, he made the Pro
Bowl and the Cowboys won the Super Bowl. He was the Super Bowl MVP .The
following year he made his fourth Pro Bowl. In 1995 he set an NFL record with
25 rushing touchdowns. Emmitt also lead the league in rushing, made the Pro
Bowl and won the Super Bowl. The following year he won his third Super Bowl.
Six years later in 2001 he was
the first running back to rush for 1000 yards 11 straight seasons. In 2002 he
broke Walter Payton’s record for most rushing yards ever. The following year he
signed with the Arizona Cardinals and finished his career there. After the 2004
season he retired. In 2006 he won the Dancing with the Stars. He won the
competition by beating out Mario Lopez in the final round. He lives in
