††††††††† Washington lies in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The Pacific Ocean is from the western border of the state. Washingtonís lowest at the sea level is along the coast. The tremendous mountain ranges cut through Washington.

††††††††† Washington is one of the fastest growing states in the nation. In between 1990 and 2000 there were 6 million people in Washington. Some of Washingtonís newest residents come form other states.

††††††††† People lived in Washington for 12,000 years. Ancestors are Native Americans today that had moved into Washington by the 1500s.The Chinook, Nisqually, and Quinault built villages in the west of the cascades.

††††††††† Numerous Washington people have jobs like services, businesses, and any other industry.Manufacturing, agriculture, and fishing are important also for the state industries.The trade and tourism are much major in the Washingtonís industries.

††††††††† Washington has snow-caped mountains and Evergreen forests. Waves pound the cliffs along the rugged Pacific Seacoast. Washingtonís slight towns and cities have several other attractions. Port Angeles is in Northern Washington.
